Certainly, where Jimi Hendrix is concerned, there is legend. Revered as one of Rock’s greatest guitarists, Jimi left behind more than enough evidence to underscore those claims. There are easily a wealth of Hendrix fans who waste little to no time to acquire unreleased tracks, or any new edition of albums, or even slick repackages. The following news should get plenty of Jimi Hendrix fans up early for the lineup at their nearest Record Store Day locale.
On that date (April 16), Legacy will reissue the 1969 collection, Smash Hits, on vinyl LP. The album will feature newly remastered tracks from the original analog tapes. To increase the worth and value of this collectible edition, there will be an alternate cover that was originally planned for the US issue of the UK assembly. The “new” cover is a shot that was included in the original US pressing as a poster. It will also be included here as a poster as well.
This Record Store Day LP will be pressed on 150g-weight black vinyl. The first 5,000 copies issued will be exclusively numbered for Record Store Day collectors.
