When saxophonist, John Coltrane died in 1967, the world lost a truly great musician. But he didn’t leave us before gifting the world with a number of great albums. One of them, A Love Supreme, first issued in 1965 via the Impulse! label, was one of his legacies. With its four-part exploration of the spirit, it helped to set a tone for free-form jazz.
On October 30, Verve Records will revisit this classic album with two CD offerings. The first is A Love Supreme: The Complete Studio Masters. The second is A Love Supreme: The Complete Studio + Live Masters.
For now, that is all that is known. I will update this as I get more information.
