40 years ago, a band by the short name of Rush released their first album, the self-titled classic from 1974. Since, Rush has built a solid audience and loyal fan-base that watch impatiently for every news of the band. Of course, little, if anything, need be said about Rush. Their strong catalog of beloved titles say it all for them. What only need be said is what they plan to release going forward. Whether that be a new album, a collection set, remasters and expansions of previous classics, or a DVD and/or BD of video, fans are ready for the news.
On November 11, Rounder Records will release a collected set planned for both DVD, and Blu-ray packages. The new set will be called R40, and will feature previously released videos that include Rush In Rio, R30, Snakes & Arrows Live, Time Machine 2011: Live In Cleveland, and Clockwork Angels Tour. Also included in this collected box will be a bonus video disc of live material that has not been previously released.
The bonus disc will present live videos stretching from 1974 through 2013. With an encompassed time of over two hours, some of that live material will feature the performance of 2112 in its entirety, the 1974 Laura Secord School performance that will feature two unreleased Rush songs from the era, as well as a cover of “Bad Boy”, the Beatles track, the closing tour film, I Still Love You Man from the Time Machine Tour, with Paul Rudd, and Jason Segal, and footage from their 2013 induction into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.
R40 will be presented in a hardcover book which will, of course, contain photos, words, and plenty of memorabilia.
R40, as previously stated, will be issued on DVD in a 10DVD Box, and Blu-ray in a 6BD Box.
