Dr John will release Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch via Concord Records with a planned date of August 19.

Concord Records will also release a multi-artist celebration of George Duke featuring one of Jazz’s great vocalists, Al Jarreau. The album is being called My Old Friend: Celebrating George Duke, and is planned for August 5.

Asthmatic Kitty will release This Is My Hand by My Brightest Diamond. My Brightest Diamond is the strong work of Shara Worden, whose new album will be her fourth release. This Is My Hand is slated for release on September 16 on CD, DD, and vinyl LP. Pure indie!

Eagle Rock entertainment have a live performance from Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) planned on video and CD of Thick As A Brick – Live In Iceland. This is on the calendar for August 19.

Rhino Records, in conjunction with Blackened Records will release new vinyl LP editions of Metallica albums. These include Ride The Lightning, Kill ‘Em All, Death Magnetic (2LP), …and Justice For All. These are planned for September 16. Other Metallica titles, Metallica (2LP), Master of Puppets, Load (2LP), Garage, Inc. (3LP), S&M (3LP), are slated earlier for August 26.

Cleopatra Records will release a 12-track, 2CD live reunion of talent featuring Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, and Jim McCarty that occurred in 2006 as Cactus – Live In the USA. This album is pegged for release on August 5.

Mute Records will re-release Can titles on vinyl LP that includes Tago Mago, Soundtracks, Monster Movie, and Ege Bamyasi. All LPs are scheduled for September 2.

Analogue Productions will release a 6SACD Box featuring the works of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble (Texas Flood – 1983, Couldn’t Stand The Weather – 1984, Soul to Soul – 1985, In Step – 1989, Family Style – 1990, The Sky Is Cryin’ – 1991). The Box is being referred to as Texas Hurricane and is slated for release on August 12. VERY hefty price tag, though.

The End Records will release Still Life Moving Fast by Empress AD in CD, LP, and DD formats, all planned for September 2.
