The great UK reissue site, Super Deluxe Edition, is reporting a UK issue of collected hits for Mike + The Mechanics. The 2CD collection is called The Singles: 1986-2013. It will contain all of their single issues, including b-sides and rarities. To make the set more incredible, the set will add in a previously unreleased track, “One By One”, and a brand new song, “When My Feet Don’t Touch The Ground”.
Mike + The Mechanics formed in the mid-80s as a side-project for Genesis band-member, Mike Rutherford. Completed by band-mates, Paul Carrack, the late Paul Young (of the underrated Sad Café band), Peter Van Hooke, and Adrian Lee. What was intended as a “keep busy” effort ended up being a large-scale project with Rutherford and the band.
Over the years, and during the highly potent MTV era, Mike + The Mechanics pumped out hit after hit. Those hits included “Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)”, and “All I Need Is A Miracle” to name but two.
On October 21 (UK), The Singles: 1986-2013 will release. This ‘best of’ can be pre-ordered via the UK arm of Amazon.
