For 2013’s Record Store Day, Columbia Records reissued three Aerosmith classics on 180g vinyl, riding the surging wave of LP interest that is breaking out across the world.  Hell, I went in hunt of the new Black Angels album, Indigo Meadow, on vinyl LP, only to be disappointed in every visit.  (Good going, Black Angels!)  The Aerosmith albums being re-reissued to the masses, now outside the scope of Record Store Day, are Aerosmith, Get Your Wings, and Toys In The Attic, all three featuring new 2012 remastering for the LP project.  I’ll tell you this, I DIDN’T pick up the Get Your Wings album, even though I should have.  I’m going to remedy that next trip to the store.  As an aside, (and for discussion fodder), I maintain that Aerosmith never rose above the magic in Get Your Wings!

The previously mentioned Aerosmith remastered 180g LPs are now set for reissue on June 4.

Culture Factory USA will reissue Blue Oyster Cult‘s 1976 classic, Agents Of Fortune on remastered CD that features 96k, 24-bit playback.  The CD will feature a gatefolded paper jacket replicating the original album LP release  completely in every way including the inner sleeve.  The CD itself even has the CD painted to reproduce the original label, just as the album looked.  This is expected on June 18.  It will be joined in similar fashion by Fire Of Unknown Origin, On Your Feet Or On Your Knees, Cultösaurus Erectus, Blue Öyster Cult, Tyranny And Mutation, Spectres, Mirrors, Secret Treaties, and Some Enchanted Evening.

Culture Factory USA will also revisit Wishbone Ash with the same styled releases (as explained above for BOC) of Live Dates, and Live Dates II.  These are slated for June 25.  And I WILL say this: Not only will I be getting these two releases, I’m fervently hoping for the same treatment to be applied to the ENTIRE Wishbone Ash catalog, particularly through Number The Brave.
