Steve Hoffman has announced that he is working on mastering Alice Cooper – Billion Dollar Babies for Audio Fidelity. There’s no word yet on whether it will be an SACD or just a Gold Disc yet. (Hoffman Forum)
Another fascinating grey-market title has sprung up from the U.K. This one comes from a label calling itself All Access and it is a radio broadcast from McDonough Gym at American University in Washington, DC from 1971 by The Byrds and is titled Straight For The Sun. The chronological time of this gig took place after they had played in Europe and Royal Albert Hall during that year. So, this is another document for those of you who are hooked on Clarence White Era Byrds. It is out now and is available through Amazon U.K. (Amazon U.K.)

Noted Rock author, Marc Roberty, has penned a new book covering the musical aspects (as in emphasis on music) of Eric Clapton’s entire career in his upcoming book Eric Clapton: His Life And Music for Backbeat Books and is due out April 15, 2014. Roberty, as some of you know, has written a few excellent Hendrix books. (IMWAN)
Word has leaked out through a press interview that David Crosby has a new album coming out in the near future. He says it will be called Croz. It’s supposed to be coming out around January 28th. (IMWAN)
Word is also getting around that Graham Nash spilled the beans in an interview that he and David Crosby have contributed vocals to a new album from David Gilmour which is still in the process of being worked on. (Hoffman Forum)
Finally, for those of you who did not pick up the current issue of Rolling Stone Magazine which has Lou Reed on the cover and the tribute articles to Lou Reed within, it is mentioned almost in passing, that Lou was helping to put together a new box set of his solo work from the 1970′s & 1980′s shortly before the time of his death.
