My Chemical Romance achieved the pinnacle of their success with their next to last album with Warner Brothers – The Black Parade. It is with this album that they stepped above their previous set, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge from 2004. The Black Parade shattered their previous sales records by selling over 4 million copies in the US alone. The Black Parade is a conceptual album the revolves around the impending death of a terminal patient. Effectively presented, The Black Parade did as as well for the band as they had hoped.
My Chemical Romance celebrates the 20th Anniversary of The Black Parade with servings of collector editions that include signed copies that have already sold out. Those are 2LP Bloodline Red vinyl edition, a CD set, a cassette version, and a 1LP laser-etched hologram with both sides differently etched. What is currently available aside from the SOLD OUT signed editions and the laser etch 1LP will be CD, DD, Cassette, 2LP Black 180g-weight vinyl, 2LP Bloodline Red vinyl, 1LP concrete Grey vinyl, and 2LP Baby Pink vinyl. The CD will provide a 16-page booklet, while the LPs provide printed inner sleeves housed in gatefold jackets.
The LPs present a new remaster from the analog tapes (oddly, the CD, Cass, and DD do not offer this remastering). All packages present expanded offerings with three are B-sides, and three live trcaks from their October 24, 2007 show at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ.
