KISS arrived just as the glam portion of Rock was beginning to take root. They officially formed in NYC around 1973, and by 1974, they were releasing their debut on Casablanca Records. Speaking to a new generation, KISS created a stage show that existed for shock and entertainment values. That included face painting, which was representative of their chosen personas for the stage. Right out of the gate, the debut album sold over 500,000 copies in the US garnering Gold status. That climb kept going. By 1976, they had released five studio albums and a quite popular live set (KISS Alive! – 1975). One of those Platinum sales machine was Rock And Roll Over. Released in 1976, the album produced two hit singles with “Calling Dr. Love”, and the Criss-sung follow-up to “Beth” with  “Hard Luck Woman”.

On November 6, KISS will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rock and Roll Over with a multi-disc pair of offerings that will include a 2026 remaster, a new 2026 Eddie Kramer remix, a collection of 222 previously unreleased demos, alternate tracks, and outtakes, along with selected April, 1977 show tracks from Japan covering 3 nights (April 1, April 2, April 4). A Blu-ray will be added that present the album in Dolby Atmos, a 5.1 Surround Sound mix, and two hi resolution Stereo mixes (192kHz/24-bit, 96kHz/24-bit) as well as the 2026 Eddie Kramer remix in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 Surround, and 96kHz/24-bit Hi Res Stereo.

The box is then rounded out with an informative 104-page hardbound book, and a complete collection of swag that includes, bumper sticker, glossy photos, magnets, guitar picks, art cards, ticket stub, coasters, trading cards, a 1976 press kit reproduction, and a selection of tees, and hoodies.

This 50th Anniversary of Rock and Roll Over will come in two box sets, one pricier than the other, and several LP variations. Those include the 6LP Box with hoodie and BD, the 4CD/BD Box with tee-shirt, a zoetrope saw-shaped picture disc LP (with coin) [now sold-out], a Yellow/Orange Explosive LP, a Black LP with the 2026 Kramer remix, 1CD, and DD. Going to be quite the package for fans.
