There are so few bands still doing the “show” after 50+ years, at least not core intact bands. Until 2021, The Rolling Stones were still performing to sellout crowds with four “core” members (Richards, Jagger, Watts, Wood). Through it all, there are 24 studio sets of originals songs, and a successful collection of Live stuff and collections. And they’re still at it with surprisingly good results.
On July 10, Rolling Stones will deliver number 25 with Foreign Tongues, a new album with 14 new songs. Foreign Tongues showcases songs that get us to recognize that The Stones haven’t given up the ghost to age or creativity differences caused by new generations of listeners. There are two available tracks – “Rough And Twisted”, and “In the Stars” released ahead of the album. You can hear both below.
Foreign Tongues will be released on CD on standard issue, a CD boxset with a 16-page lyric booklet, a 7″ art print, a fold-out poster, and a BD with Atmos mix, 5.1 Surround, and hi-resolution Stereo, an Rolling Stone Inhouse Store exclusive of a Red CD. There will also be DD for download and streaming. There is an In Store exclusive yellow Cassette for cassette fans. Finally, there will be a 2LP Black vinyl set pressed on 180g-weight vinyl, an In Store exclusive 2LP 180g-weight White vinyl with 12″ art print, and an In Store exclusive 2LP Yellow 180g-weight vinyl press box that will also pack in a BD with Atmos, 5.1 Surround, and Hi-Resolution stereo mixes,, as well as a 12″ art print, and a slip mat for your turntable.
