Back in the embryonic late ’70s, as music began to morph to the simpler sounds of New Wave, Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark started their own sound with synths and catchy lyrics. By 1980, they struck gold with their excellent self-titled debut that included songs like “Electricity”, and “Red Frame/White Light”, both successful UK singles. Over time, they released increasingly catchy albums and tracks. Organisation (1980) delivered “Enola Gay”, Architecture & Morality (1981) gave three glorious singles in “Maid Of Orleans”, “Souvenir”, and “Joan Of Arc”, and the remaining five successful OMD sets in the era delivered more singles.
On October 27, OMD will release their next album (14th). It will be called Bauhaus Staircase. It will hold 12 tracks with familiar but updated electro-synth. They have a single from the new album – “Bauhaus Staircase” currently available (hear below).
Bauhaus Staircase will be released on CD, a limited, numbered 2CD set with 13 demo tracks, DD, CS, and several vinyl LP color versions that include 140g-weight standard black, a limited and numbered 140g-weight opaque yellow, and a limited, numbered 140g-weight Red and Gray 50/50 split color LP. there are several bundled packages being offered with one including a tee shirt, a keyring, the 2CD set, black vinyl LP, and cassette.
