Late 2000 brought the Linkin Park mega-hit, Hybrid Theory to the world. The Linkin Park introduction put the band into the hot spotlights, creating vast anticipation for their follow-up, which would be Meteora. It was released in 2003 and debut on the charts at the lofty and rare number one spot. It produced 5 singles giving Linkin Park several years with the album before having to create anew.
On April 7, Linkin Park will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Meteora with a huge collection of originals, live, demos, rarities, and other things that will fit into a massive 5LP/4CD/3DVD box to ably represent the album in its 20 years of existence. The box will add in a 40-page book, a 36″ x 24″ poster, a sticker sheet, a 12″ x 12″ lithograph design of the cover, and a stencil sheet. The 5 LPs contain the original album, 2LPs that feature Live In Texas, and 2 LPs that feature Live In Nottingham 2003. The four CDs contain the original album on one, a collection of 19 demos and rarities on another (LPU Rarities 2.0), 10 live performance tracks (Live Rarities 2003-2004) on yet another, and a final CD with 14 demos (Lost Demos).
The three DVDs feature the work of Meteora on one of them with three videos, DVD2 with Live at Veterans Stadium – 2003, and Live at Seoul – 2003. DVD3 offers Live In Manila – 2004, and Live In Denver – Projekt Revolution 2004. If this set doesn’t satisfy the Linkin Park fan, then nothing ever will.
The 20th Anniversary of Meteora will also be made available in a 4LP box as well as a 3CD package (Meteora, LPU Rarities 2.0, Live Rarities). Of course, there will be DD availability.
