Daniel Lanois is one of those names that fans of U2 may remember. Along with Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois helped to further the evolving career of U2 with The Unforgettable Fire (1984). He assisted in helping to produce 5 of U2‘s classic sets. In addition, he has produced sets by Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and Robbie Robertson (and others). He released a movie soundtrack for Sling Blade, and delivered 8 solo sets. (If you haven’t heard his 1989 debut, Acadie…I have to ask, why not?!)

Daniel Lanois is an amazing artist that deserves to not be ignored. Of course, he will not appeal to all, but his music – a Folk/Rock application – will  absolutely appeal to more than a few including fans of Neil Young. You likely will not have to go far in any streaming effort to recognize his talent.

On June 12, Daniel Lanois ( pronounced as lan-wah) will release his 9th solo set to be named Belladonna Nocturne. This new set will deliver fourteen new tracks. As a fan, I’m looking forward to any single releases and in particular, this album. If you haven’t heard of him or need a refresher, you can hear “The Maker” below. This song was from Acadie.

Belladonna Nocturne will be released on CD, DD, and vinyl LP via Rhino Entertainment.
