Peter Hammill, in addition to his contributions to Van der Graaf Generator, ran a collection of side projects that added to his unique mystique. His tenure with Van der Graaf Generator was long and fruitful but he released even more music as a solo artist (over 40 studio sets). One of his affiliations was with his own personal label, Fie! Records.
On April 24, Esoteric Recordings (Cherry Red UK) will collect the Fie! recordings with a 4CD box that will be known as A Headlong Stretch – The Fie! Albums 1992-1996. In this box will be four albums (Fireships – 1992, The Noise – 1993, Roaring Forties – 1994, X My Heart – 1996), all newly remastered for this collection. A booklet is included that will provide new2 liner notes, photographs, and plenty of credits, all provided by Peter Hammill.
