Peter Frampton enjoyed a wide range of career choices. From working with Steve Marriott in Humble Pie, to doing session work as a guitarist for many bands, to his own Frampton’s Camel, then on to an increasingly successful solo career jumpstarted by his 1976 live set, Frampton Comes Alive. He followed that immense fame up with a studio set, I’m In You (1977), but discovered that Frampton Comes Alive was a cultural phenomenon not easily replaced or capitalized on. It simply was an album of its time and found a very large audience. 2025 marks the 50th Anniversary of that momentous set, which sold an astounding 8 million copies within the US alone, and spawned 3 live singles, a difficult feat by itself.
On January 22, UmE will reissue the the 2LP title on 2LP 180g-weight black vinyl, and packed the set with a four-panel insert that will feature a new interview with Peter Frampton on the phenomenon of the album. This joins the recently introduced VinylPhyle series from UmE.
