Tangerine Dream, an influential German synth band that set the stage for all those that would follow. Begun by Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream went through multiple configurations, its most popular being the Virgin Years with Peter Baumann, Edgar Froese, and Christopher Franke. After his death, the band continued on with Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane, and Paul Frick at the front. They have continued to not only move forward with enchanting new compositions, but also to honor the original music with perfect replication.
On January 30, Tangerine Dream will release a new live set to be titled 50 Years Of Phaedra: At The Barbican. This set will feature the music representing the classic Virgin set, Phaedra, played at London’s Barbican Hall on October 7, 2024. Their intent was to honor the 50th anniversary of the 1974 classic, This new set will fill 2CDs and provide collectors with vinyl sets.
50 Years of Phaedra: At The Barbican will be released on 2CD, DD, and several editions of vinyl LP that will include 3LPs pressed on standard black vinyl, as well as 3LPs pressed on Limited Edition Coke Bottle Green vinyl. the 2CD will be packed with a 12-page booklet, while the 2 LP packages will have an 8-page insert. The sets will come by way of KScope Records.
