Marianne Faithfull achieved stardom via her “As Tears Go By” single. But her association with The Rolling Stones certainly helped significantly. That isn’t to denigrate or downplay her talent; she had plenty of it. With a voice and song-writing capacity that was ascendant, Marianne Faithfull deserved all of her time in the spotlight. I was particularly enamored with her Broken English set (and beyond). Marianne Faithfull is a talent that should be noticed.
On August 1, Proper Records will issue a 6CD Box to be called Cast Your Fate To The Wind. This box will assemble the Deca Records releases, which will also be individually reissued as new vinyl (June 27). All of the albums and the extra tracks are newly remastered for these reissues and this box set. The 6CD box will add in a 76-page book filled with new notes, and a ton of unpublished photos. To cap off the boxed set, there are 5 art cards to be included. The 6CD box will feature the four Decca releases (Marianne Faithfull – 1965, Come My Way – 1965, North Country Maid – 1966, Loveinamist – 1967), all fitted into Japanese-styled mini-LP carboard covers. The remaining two CDs will present all of the Marianne Faithfull non-album tracks from Decca including B-sides and rarities. These will include four previously unreleased singles, and the Decca EP issue, Go Away From My World. A 2LP package of the same Cast Your Fate To The Wind name will be offered with the 27 tracks of the bonus material found on CD5 and CD6 of the box.
Cast Your Fate To The Wind is being delivered by the 6CD box, DD, and the 2LP set. The four individual Decca remasters are available on 180g-weight industry standard black vinyl LP. The individual reissues of the four Decca sets are issued individually,
