The history of Bauhaus, a band from the UK that was formed in 1978 under the magic of reformation in music. The ’80s blossomed into Post-punk and New Wave unleashing a wealth of talented bands that were not our standard fare from the ’70s. Bauhaus gained notoriety in the young ’80s as bands like Joy Division, and others gained a foothold in the darker side of the music that was typically POP for the New Wave style. Bauhaus is best known for “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” and a handful of singles tracks that typified the FM market of the time. One of the notable exports from Bauhaus is Peter Murphy, a singer/songwriter that transitioned from band front man to a strong solo artist.

On May 9, Peter Murphy will release his next full-length set to be known as Silver Shade. The new album will be issued via Metropolis Records. Silver Shade will be home to new songs from Peter Murphy that have yet to be announced, however, a song from the album has been released. The new song is called “Swoon”. It can be heard below. “Swoon” has Trent Reznor guesting on the track.

I suspect that Silver Shade will be released on CD, DD, and hopefully, vinyl LP. I promise to update this with better information as it becomes available. In the meantime, listen to that awesome “Swoon” track!
