Wilco, a band that formed back in 1994 in Chicago, has enjoyed success from the get-go with their debut album, A.M. A.M. was released in 1995 and captured the attention of fans leading to a healthy sales point. This has continued for some albums that include not only 2001’s Gold-seller, Yankee hotel Foxtrot, but also 2004’s Grammy Award-winning A Ghost Is Born. And 2024 is the album’s 20th Anniversary.
On February 7 of 2025, Nonesuch Records will help Wilco to celebrate the album’s 20th Anniversary with a set of reissues that will include a massive 9LP/4CD Box set ( and a 9CD Box. Those boxes will being together the original album with a healthy collection of 65 tracks. Those tracks will also include a handful of outtakes, demos, and alternates along with the complete 2004 live recording of their October 2, 2004 Wang Center show in Boston. The box will add in a 48-page hardcover book with unpublished photos, and new notes.
The 20th Anniversary of A Ghost Is Born will be issued in the previously mentioned 9LP/4CD and 9CD Box configurations and also in 2CD Expanded (original album and 19 previously unreleased tracks – a collection of CD2 and CD3 tracks), 2LP, and DD (featuring the 2CD Expanded configuration).
