Jethro Tull put out many classic sets that include Aqualung, Thick As A Brick, Songs From the Wood, Heavy Horses, and many others. But there is one album that Jethro Tull released that doesn’t get as much love, although it should get more than it does, and that is The Jethro Tull Christmas Album. This album was released in 2003. John Evan and Barriemore Barlow were not with Jethro Tull by this point having been gone since they left in 1980 after the death of John Glascock. Martin Barre was still with the band at the time.
On December 6, Century Media will deliver a newly remixed set of The Jethro Tull Christmas Album (sub-titled Fresh Snow At Christmas). This set will be presented in a Box that will contain 4 CDs and a Blu-ray disc. In the first 2 CDs, there will be the original mix of the album, while the 2nd CD will contain the new 2024 Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief) remix from the original tapes. the other two CDs will contain live music with the 3rd CD providing Christmas Live at St. Bride’s – 2008, and the 4th CD with The Ian Anderson Band at St. Bride’s – 2006. The BD-Audio will provide Hi resolution Stereo Mixes, as well as a Dolby Atmos mix, and a 5.1 Surround mix. both live sets were charities for the homeless.
The Jethro Tull Christmas album: Fresh snow At Christmas will be provided in a 4CD/BD-Audio Limited Edition Box, a 180g-weight 2LP set (the first time on vinyl), and DD. the Box will include a hardbound book filled with new notes and many unseen photographs and artwork. Pre-order here.
