After the creative beauty of Be Bop Deluxe, Bill Nelson stretched out and did other projects including solo works, a venture that generated most of his musical classworks. One of those is Quit Dreaming & Get On The Beam, his 1981 Mercury solo debut. The recordings that make up this album were intended for a new Red Noise album, which didn’t happen.
On December 6, Esoteric Recordings will revisit Quit Dreaming & Get On The Beam with a celebratory 3CD/BD box that will pck in a 68-page booklet to accompany the classic album. For more heft, this set will add in a whopping 53 bonus tracks. The album will be newly remastered for this set. To make it even more attractive, a poster and postcards will be an important part of the set. The music will feature new 5.1 Surround and Stereo mixes.
Quit Dreaming & Get On The Beam will be complete with the three CDs and the Blu-ray that will contain 14 tracks from the sessions for the album, and a “Do You Dream In Colour?” video.
