Rod Stewart has enjoyed a long career inside the annals of Rock and Roll. First as singer for Long John Baldry, then The Jeff Beck Group, and then as the face of the revamped Small Faces, called simply Faces. After a measure of success, Rod Stewart left and became a hugely successful solo artist, a vocation that he works within to this day.
Jools Holland, once a member of Squeeze through their first three albums, enjoyed a solo career with more than 25 solo albums to his name. He has played with obscure artists such as Wayne/Jayne County (NYC), and many others. He is a popular host of the UK BBC-TV series, Later…With Jools Holland. But it is music that is at the forefront of his existence.
On February 23, Rod Stewart, and Jools Holland team up to release a new album to be called Swing Fever. This album is a strong nod to the music of the Big Band Swing era and will carry a musical weight of 13 newly recorded songs classics by the pair. One of the songs from the set – the Loewe/Lerner-written standard of “Almost Like Being In Love” – is already in release and can be heard below. The song was popularized by Frank Sinatra, as well as Nat King Cole, and recorded by many others.
Swing Fever will be released on CD, DD, and two forms of vinyl LP that include the industry standard black vinyl, and a limited edition clear vinyl, all via Rhino Records (Warner Brothers Music). Amazon will offer an exclusive Green vinyl LP release.
