The band known as Blue Öyster Cult started off with a heavy brand of music that eventually transitioned into a top-selling act with the arrival of fan-favorite, “Don’t Fear The Reaper”. But it was their raucous live set – On Your Feet Or On Your Knees from 1975, that got the band square within the sights of a hungry audience. Agents of Fortune gave the band its first platinum set. Nevertheless, their strong point were in their shows.
On December 8, Frontiers Records will honor the band’s live prowess and their 50th Anniversary with a package that showcases one of their three-night sold out sets at Sony Hall in September 2022. The album will be issued as a 2CD/DVD or 2CD/BD package that will present the band’s first night in a 3-hour set that sifted 24 tracks from their long career. The album will be called 50th Anniversary Live – First Night.
First Night will be issued on 2CD, 2CD/DVD, 2CD/BD, DD, standalone BD, and 3LP Black vinyl. This set will be the first issue with the other two nights soon to show up as issues in the same way as First Night. A song (I’m On The Lamb But I Ain’t No Sheep) from the First Night set can be heard below.
