Slade, a once immensely popular Rock band from the UK that delivered a long series of hit albums and singles back in the ’70s, was originally known as Ambrose Slade. They released a 1969 debut set names Beginnings before shortening their name to Slade and achieving their well-deserved ’70s success. With the recent wave of reissues for Slade, it only stands to reason that Beginnings be revisited for the same updating.
On September 15, BMG will reissue Beginnings and restore the name back to the original Ambrose Slade. There are no bonus tracks. Beginnings will be released on CD, DD, and a yellow and red splatter vinyl LP set.
In addition, BMG will also release a live set to be titled Alive! At Reading, a set that was recorded from their 1980 Reading Festival performance. It will be released on September 15 on CD, DD, and on an orange and black splatter vinyl LP set.
