The Pop radio airwaves were awash in what was then termed “bubblegum” music back in the late ’60s/early ’70s. There were The Ohio Express, 1910 Fruitgum Company, Brooklyn Bridge, Tommy Roe, and a duo called Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart. Tommy Boyce was a chief songwriter who had penned hits for The Monkees, and a host of other artists; Bobby Hart was an essential part of that songwriting team. But now and again, they released an album just to jump into the fray. their best known “one-hit-wonder” track recorded by themselves was “I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonite”.
On July 28, 7a Records from the UK will reissue the classic Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart album from 1968, which contained their “I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonite” hit. This album, also titled I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight, was originally recorded for A&M Records. The new reissue will feature new remastering of the 55 year old album, and a 28-page booklet with lyrics, new notes, photos, and more. It’s also being referred to as a 55th Anniversary Deluxe release set, which only includes the original album.
I Wonder What’s She’s Doing Tonite will be issued on CD, DD, and a Limited Edition 180g-weight Red vinyl press LP (500 copies only). You can order here.
