Little Feat introduced in 1969 and released their first album in 1971. Formed by Lowell George and Bill Payne after Lowell and Roy Estrada left Mothers of Invention, the band eventually rose to fame. Their 1973 release, Dixie Chicken began to pull in a sizeable audience with its music. Now, Dixie Chicken is a full 50 years old.
On June 23, Rhino Entertainment will help Little Feat celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Dixie Chicken with an expanded and remastered reissue of the early Little Feat classic. Added to the 2023 remaster will be a healthy collection of demos, live performance tracks (from Paul’s Mall on April 1, 1973 in Boston, MA), and alternate versions of songs, 16 in all.
Dixie Chicken will be reissued on 2CD, DD, and 3LP standard black vinyl packages. A beautifully rich booklet is added to all sets. The CDs and LPs will have the familiar Burbank WB Music label in full show.
