Rush is one of the best-known Canadian Rock bands that has gained world-wide success with everyone of their 19 studio albums. And of course, nearly everyone of their live albums charted high and sold well. One of those studio sets is Signals. Released in 1982. Signals was a success out of the gate. It was their 9th album, following on the heels of Moving Pictures, which sold well over 10 million copies, and best known for its “Tom Sawyer” single. It turned 40 years old in 2022.
On April 28, Mercury Records will help Signals celebrate with a massive Boxed set that will offer not only the original album in various forms that include a 5.1 Surround mix in Dolby Atmos and other mixes. The Stereo remaster of the original album will feature the 2015 remaster.
Also in the Signals box will be a half-speed pressing of the album on 180g-weight black vinyl. The jacket will feature new artwork. The included BD will not only have the various 5.1 mixes, but also a high resolution Stereo mix (2015), two videos, animated visualizers for each song. A 40-page book will be packed in delivering the history of the album and the band for the period that Signals was recorded during. 4 7″ vinyl singles are included as well as three lenticulars, four Signals tour lithographs, the original album cover sketch lithograph, a double-sided 24″ by 24″ color poster, and 8 printed lyric sheets.
There will be a collectible picture disc LP, and a DD edition of the Dolby Atmos 5.1 Surround mix made available. I’m sure break-out CDs will hit the market soon.
