For many who listened to AM Radio back in the early ’60s, the music of The Seekers often provided a welcome arrival. Enhanced by the vocals of Judith Durham, this Australian folk band handed off single after single in their first incarnation. The band broke up in 1969 as Judith pursued a solo career, although by 1992, the band reunited for the hits circuit as their sound of the ’60s was no longer viable for the young audiences of the ’90s. Regardless, The Seekers left behind quite an enduring legacy, one that isn’t easily forgotten as long as those who enjoyed their music still walk the earth.
On December 16, a 3CD ‘best of’ package to be called Carry Me: The 60th Anniversary Celebration will help to bring back a collection of 60 loved tracks from the career of the band. Some of the original members were involved in the selection of tracks for this package.
