The Flaming Lips are something of a strange phenomenon. They’ve been around for 40 years, have 16 studio sets in release along with a handful of EPs and singles. They have several compilation sets, too. But ask many people and it will be but a few whose eyes widen at the mention of the name. Nevertheless, they have a rabid fanbase and have several loved works in the catalog that include the best-selling Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots (2002), and the singles “She Don’t Use Jelly”, and “Do You Realize?”. Tons of thanks to Warner Brothers for staying with the band throughout most of their catalog releases!
On November 25, Warner will unleash a 6CD Box in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. Inside, the box will contain a welcome blend of the original album, demos, unreleased live performances, radio sessions, non-album tracks and b-sides, and several of their previously released EPs surrounding the album. The million copies sold of the album is represented well in the included booklet and poster.
The 20th Anniversary Edition of Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots will be released in 6CD Box, a truncated 5LP Box pressed on Baby Pink vinyl (not scheduled for release until April 14 of 2023) , and DD.
