Creedence Clearwater Revival – or CCR – has a clear mystique about them. Their southern swamp music reverberated throughout the late ’60s and early ’70s in the airwaves and on countless turntables of all kinds, whether by 45s or by 33 1/3rds. Their mystique arose from the kind of music they produced that obviously hit the nerve of millions, and their demise at a peak level. Nevertheless, over the decades, CCR has maintained that class and familiarity that endeared them to so many.
On September 16, CCR is being remembered by a live set recorded from an April 14, 1970 date during the band’s hottest peak period. The set will feature 12 songs that run from “Proud Mary” through songs like “Down On The Bayou”, “Fortunate Son”, “Green River”, and “Bad Moon Rising”. The set will be called Creedence Clearwater Revival At The Royal Albert Hall. It will be issued via Craft Records.
Creedence Clearwater Revival At The Royal Albert Hall will be released on CD, DD (MP3, WAV, ALAC, FLAC), CS, and multiple variations of vinyl LP editions that include color exclusives at Walmart (Tombstone Shadow), Target (Green River), and 180g-weight black vinyl LP for the rest. A limited edition Deluxe set (5000 copies) will be offered with 2LP (mastered at 45 RPM and pressed on 180g-weight black vinyl), 2CDs (one of At The Royal Albert Hall, and one of the soundtrack from Travelin’ Band film), booklet, a BD that contains the Travelin’ Band film, along with Dolby Atmos 5.1 Surround Sound and Stereo mixes, a 17″ by 24″ poster, a replica of the original program, and a 3″ by 5″ sticker with the “Keep Calm And Choogle On” phrase.
