There once was a band in the ’70s that went by the name of Flash. Flash was formed in 1971 by Peter Banks, who was no longer a part of Yes, and Colin Carter. (Peter Banks would go on to form Badger in 1972.) Their intended scope was as a progressive band, and their fevered hope was to become a prominent one, much like Yes had become. Flash enjoyed a hit with a truncated single edit of the lengthy “Small Beginnings” from their 1971 eponymous debut. Flash released three albums in a short one year period before their dissolution.
On September 9, Think Like A Key Records will release a celebration of the music of Flash with a 3CD live set being called In The USA: Live Recordings 1972-1973. The set will contain 22 performance tracks culled from seven concerts. Much of this collection of live tracks are rare and represent pretty much most of which are possbile to be reproduced in as clean a form as possible.
