For those aware of the power and music of Black Mountain might also be aware of bandleader, Stephen McBean and his side project called Pink Mountaintops. In the past, Pink Mountaintops actually has employed many of the band members of Black Mountain but has not isolated itself with just those musicians. Even the singularly dynamic Amber Webber has contributed vocals. With a different kind of Rock, Pink Mountaintops performs music outside the scope of Black Mountain, which gives us more of the allure of Stephen McBean and Gregg Foreman. Their last album was Get Back, which was released in 2014.
On May 6, ATO Records will ship a new Pink Mountaintops album called Peacock Pools. This new album will contain twelve new songs reminescent of the ’70s style. A single from the new album is “Lights Of The City”, can be heard below.
Peacock Pools will be released on CD, DD, Limited Edition Gold Color vinyl, an Indie-exclusive splatter vinyl LP, and industry standard black vinyl offerings. All versions can be pre-ordered here.
