Many have dipped below the horizon and listened to music from bands that aren’t as popular as others. In that way, many bands developed a cult following without the need for hits or high-charting albums. With that, there are a large undercurrent of bands and artists that enjoy popularity albeit in the peripheries. One of those bands is the under-appreciated Be Bop Deluxe. Formed in the UK by mainstay Bill Nelson, the band released a welcomed display of albums – 5 in all. End date: 1978.
Bill Nelson went on to do solo work and work as Red Noise, and other band names. But most prominently, Bill Nelson delivered more than fifty albums. For fans of Bill Nelson, this was/is heaven. Fast forward to the near future (he likes his SF), and Bill Nelson is about to deliver another set.
On December 10, Bill Nelson will release a large-scale box set of new original music all created during the pandemic lockdown. Some of that large collection of new music was released on April 30, 2021 as a 2CD all-instrumental Dazzlebox. The rest of those tracks, 94 of them, remained unreleased until the announcement of My Private Cosmos.
My Private Cosmos will bring together all songs into a 6CD box. This anticipated box will also pack in a booklet, a pick, and one of two available postcards that will be signed. Even cooler, a raffle ticket is included that will give two lucky winners the originals that make up the postcards.
My Private Cosmos is planned for 6CD and DD (on his Bandcamp page). Hopefully a vinyl package will emerge for those who prefer that medium of playback.
