The name of John Mayall has been synonymous with Rock music for well over 50 years. In fact, his name and his band (The Bluesbreakers) can be associated with the training ground of music that delivered so many classic musicians. Players like Eric Clapton, John McVie, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Harvey Mandel, Jack Bruce, Mick Fleetwood, and many others were associated with The Bluesbreakers and went on to form other bands like Cream, Fleetwood Mac, and more. At 87 (with 88 nearby), John Mayall continues to rock things out. To date, John Mayall has released 36 albums.
On January 28, John Mayall will make that 37 albums with a brand new release, The Sun Is Shining Down. With 10 new songs and a host of special guests, The Sun Is Shining Down stands to be excellent music for fans. A track from the new album is in release – “Chills and Thrills”, featuring the guitar work of Mike Campbell (Tom Petty). The Sun Is Shining Down is planned for CD, DD, and vinyl LP. The LP package is expected to arrive in April of 2022.
