Hawkwind occupies a place in Rock history with their unique sounds of the early years of Rock. Psychedelic and spacey, their music provided a nice escape from the pop singles of AM radio. Even better, for four years, Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead fame, worked with the band. Their catalog involves 34 album releases, with a wide range of musicians.
On December 10, Cherry Red UK via their Atomhenge label affiliate, will release a 6CD Box called Dust Of Time. This boxed anthology will cover the band’s periods from 1969 through the present time (2021). Selected songs, 81 tracks in all, will provide a welcome overview of Hawkwind accomplishments across the “dust of time” and with varying musical influences. Dust Of Time will add in a strong booklet filled with new photos, memorabilia, an interview, and an essay. A collectible poster is packed in. The tracks are a collected basket of live performance tracks, BBC recordings, single edits, full studio versions, and others.
A special 2CD edition of Dust Of Time will also be made available for those that prefer a zeroed-in “best of” collection of 32 tracks. The cover will sport a different colored Hawkwind logo (as seen below).
