As current guardians of the Wishbone Ash library, Madfish has done an excellent job of delivering Wishbone Ash career remembrance in their magnificent 2018 30CD Box of The Vintage Years, a yardstick by which all band-related boxset creators should refer to. Not too long after the release of The Vintage Years, Madfish offered a Live at Glascow limited edition vinyl LP featuring a Front Page News tour show.
On November 26, Madfish will unleash a newly discovered live set with Wishbone Ash from their February 15, 1980 Portsmouth Guildhall stop on the Just Testing tour. The music from this show has been newly remastered for this 2CD package named Portsmouth 1980. It will feature 14 live performance tracks during a strong period for the band. The 2CD set will also include an 8-page booklet.
For some time, I have tried to convince powers that be to revisit Live Dates with a full set of all four shows in their entirety. A beefed up booklet involved with the period and especially the four shows would be well-received. I have hope that Madfish Music can pick up this mantle and run with it.
Thanks to Stephen Talia (and by extension, John Fell) for the alert.
