The latest album from Gretchen’s Wheel, such open sky, which dropped on October 2 via Futureman Records features the sharp songcraft that musician Lindsay Murray has built her considerable reputation upon.

With such open sky, she is joined by a who’s who of collaborators including Nick Bertling; Ira Elliot, Louie Lino, and Matthew Caws (all from Nada Surf); Posies co-founder Jon Auer; and Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs).

MusicTAP proudly presents the premiere of the video for “Interloper,” a key track from the new record. The video, animated by Aldy Kusuma, was according to Murray – herself an accomplished graphic designer – based on ideas she sent him. “I thought it would be fun to make all the metaphors, etc., super-literal and over-the-top.”

Murray said in an interview with the Big Takeover, “I wrote ‘Interloper’ from the point of view of a semi-reliable narrator who feels like an inept outsider and whose extreme personality swings (bold/timid, confident/insecure) make navigating life extra challenging. The ‘narrator’ of my songs is usually myself, but in this case it’s more of a fictional protagonist with some of my characteristics – greatly exaggerated!”
