Joni Mitchell has been silent for many years since the release of Shine (2007). One would think that such a songstress with a strong worldview and a talent for expressing herself with potent lyrics over great music. It’s easy to say that many of us Joni Mitchell fans have long missed her. It’s also unbelievable that Joni Mitchell would not have a library of songs and other things.
On October 30, Warner will reach deeply into the vaults of Joni Mitchell to assemble a first volume of collections that will be called Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol, 1: The Early Years (1963-1967). This set will be contained over 5CDs, and, for vinyl collectors, Live at Canterbury House – 1967 (over 3LPs), and Early Joni – 1963 (single LP). A 40-page booklet is packed in with the 5CD Box.
