From the beginning of her career, Kathleen Edwards claimed the attention of fans throughout Canada with her 2003 debut, Failer. By 2012, with her fourth album, Voyageur, she had landed high on the charts. With her Country-Folk/Rock flavors, she looked to be headed in all the right directions. Until she stopped. She opened a coffee shop, surprisingly called Quitters, where she stayed from 2012 until the virus threat challenged her shop. With time on her hands, Kathleen Edwards recorded a new album.
On August 14, Kathleen Edwards will release her newest album, Total Freedom. With ten new songs, we can count ourselves lucky to be able to hear a true talent return to the place she belongs.
Total Freedom will be released via Dualtone Records on CD, DD, and vinyl LP. Her first new single is “Options Open” (hear below). To me it’s a triumphant return. There is also a Limited Edition signed gold-colored vinyl LP.
