Julian Cope rose to prominence in his UK band, The Teardrop Explodes. For a brief period, the band released only two album before dissolution. But the impact of those two albums, as well as a few earlier singles leaves the band and Julian Cope well respected. Since dissolving The Teardrop Explodes, Julian Cope kept musically active with a large body of solo work that continues to this day.

On March 27, Julian Cope will release his next album, Self Civil War. It will contain 13 new tracks divided into four phases. In Self Civil War, Cope explores the world as it is today. It is also the first in an intended series being referred to as Our Troubled Times.

Self Civil War will be issued on CD and DD.
