The mainstay of The Waterboys is Mike Scott. Over the course of his tenure with the band, they have released eleven studio albums, all of which are, essentially, Mike Scott with a revolving door of musicians. If you ask any student of ’80s Rock, they’ll likely – and warmly – mention The Waterboys in reverential tones. Mostly, they’ll reference This Is The Sea, the album that produced “The Whole Of The Moon”. It is Mike Scott’s literary love and deep concept that fuels the lyrics of each album. What’s amazing is that each and every album released by The Waterboys have charted in a healthy way including 2015’s Modern Blues. And we’re about to get a new Waterboys album.

On September 8, BMG via The End Records will release Out Of All This Blue. It will feature a double album – 23 songs in all – of original music by Mike Scott. One of those songs, “If The Answer Is Yeah!” is currently available to enjoy (hear below). As usual, Mike Scott uses the current flavors of Rock and Roll to blend in a stylistic swirl of Blues with. The new song ends up being an enjoyable song bringing promise to the upcoming new album.

Out Of All This Blue will be issued on 2CD, DD, and 2LP sets. To make for a better deal, a 3CD Deluxe Edition, and a 3LP Deluxe Edition will be available as well. In addition to the original album, the Deluxe Edition will deliver eleven bonus tracks including an alternate version of “If The Answer Is Yeah!” There will be a small UK tour to support the album’s release beginning on October 18.
