An immediate rush of blood to the head comes once in a while in the reissue world of music. For me, it’s the news of 2CD Deluxe Editions of two Ron Wood (Jeff Beck Group/Faces/The Rolling Stones) classics that are revered among fans. Those two albums are I’ve Got My Own Album To Do (1974), and Now Look (1975).
I’ve Got My Own Album To Do (title inspired by a certain individual who had more interest in a solo career than recording the next album with Faces) was released with the help of Jagger, Richards, George Harrison, Ian McLagan, and Mick Taylor. This album was a labor of good help and love. As for me, I STILL play this regularly. It excites my senses to wonder what may be extra material in addition to the possible new remastering.
Now Look was even better. I was produced with most of the original contributors heard on the first album. Now Look entered the charts and hung around for a bit. With songs like “Breathe On Me”, “I Got Lost When I Found You”, and the title track, along with another eight excellent songs, Now Look is another great album that I still play a lot.
Both albums were released on the Warner Bros Records label. For these two 2CD Deluxe Editions, they are in the very capable hands of Friday Music. You can expect both on January 6.
I will update as I get more information. I have little doubt that they might be reissued as vinyl LP sets as well.
