Jack Ingram Midnight MotelSay what you will, but I get a feeling of mid-career Tom Petty whenever I hear the music of Jack Ingram. Jack Ingram parleyed a a bar residency in Fort Worth, TX into a good label signing that delivered seven increasingly popular album titles starting with his eponymous debut in 1995. His last album, Big Dreams & High Hopes, released in 2009 followed up his immensely successful 2007 Big Machine release, This Is It. This Is It generated three Country charts hits (“Lips Of An Angel”, “Measure Of A Man”, “Maybe She’ll Get Lonely”) that set the wheels of fame into full motion. Big Dreams & High Hopes delivered five hits on the Country Charts (“That’s A Man”, “Barefoot And Crazy”, “Seeing Stars”, “Free”, “Barbie Doll”). A few of these songs even charted on the Billboard Top 100 charts, a cross-over that makes sense, although it surprises me that more Rock fans don’t latch on to his Tom Petty-like sound.

On August 26, Rounder Records will release the next Jack Ingram album, Midnight Motel, Midnight Motel will present eleven new tracks. The new album will be released on CD, vinyl LP, and DD.
