For fans of the Alan Parsons Project, this bit of recently announced news should be enough to complete your week.
Tales Of Mystery and Imagination -Edgar Allan Poe was the first APP set to be released. Then, there was little idea that that debut album would lead to the career that Alan Parsons and his bandmate, Eric Woolfson wold eventually enjoy. This album was released back in 1976. It led the way for the breakthrough I Robot set that followed in 1977. From there, it’s music history.
This summer, Tales Of Mystery And Imagination will be reissued in a big way. The reissue will contain brand new remastering as well a brand new 5.1 mix from Alan Parsons himself. The intended reissue will be primarily a Super Deluxe 40th Anniversary Edition that will include a 4LP vinyl release pressed at 45RPM, 3 CDs, one of which will be chocked full with all new bonus material, AND a BD (Blu-ray) that will contain the previously mentioned new 5.1 surround Sound mix of the classic album.
There is no current release date. But it’s coming. Bet on that!
When I have more, I’ll be sure to update this post with it.
