Last month, we reported on the upcoming new Neil Diamond album, Melody Road. It’s his first since switching from long-time label, Columbia Records to Universal, an umbrella he once recorded under with Uni, and MCA Records. After the release of Home Before Dark (2008), and his covers set, Dreams from 2010, we’ve been left waiting for something new. With the catalog transference, we’re also hoping for catalog remasters that we haven’t seen for quite sometimes, especially – especially – of many of his Columbia Records titles. For me, that’s a Serenade remaster.
Melody Road is an album of 12 new songs, one of which has already been released as a fore-running single. That song, “The Art Of Love” can be heard below in an official video for the song (with lyrics). As you will tell – provided you’re a Diamond fan – the song is in the classic Neil Diamond style, complete with orchestration.
Melody Road releases via Capitol Records on October 21, on CD, DD, and vinyl LP.
