The surprise news over the last few days is the new David Bowie retrospective set arriving in November via both Parlophone (in Europe), and Legacy Recordings (in the US). As fans, we have had the updating of Sound+Vision to slake our thirst for a set of favored Bowie tunes. The interesting thing about Sound+Vision, however, is the updating it goes through.
Nevertheless, Sound+Vision notwithstanding, there is the new collection coming. Called Nothing Has Changed, it covers the periods from 1964 through 2014, and even throws in a new song to spice it up even further. The set will sift through the chameleon’s musical treasure chest providing many songs, along with different mixes of familiar tunes, radio edits, and a few special inclusions that add the new song, “Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)”.
Nothing Has Changed will be available in several styles that include a 3CD collection, a truncated 2CD set, and a 2LP vinyl set. (See Track-list below). In addition, the new song will be issued as a 10″ single.
Nothing Has Changed will release on November 17 in the UK (along with the 10″ single issue of “Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)”). It will release in the US on November 18, along with the single, which will release only as a DD. The 10″ single will issue on Black Friday (November 28). The B-side of the 10″ will feature “It’s A Pity She’s A Whore”.
There are several surprises that will complete the new set like a previously unreleased track from the Toy sessions, “Let Me Sleep Beside You”. There are also “Your Turn to Drive”, and the 2001 re-recording of the 1971 outtake song, “Shadow Man”. It will be quite the interesting ‘best of”.
The above used cover art is NOT the art that will be used. It is a placeholder for the upcoming release of the cover art.

Sadly, most of the songs are single radio edit versions… PSB remix of Hallo Spaceboy?? The original is miles away better!!!
Yes,,, having the word “edit” after any song title is rarely a good thing.
The Time Will Crawl (MM remix) is fantastic…I only bought an MP3 so it will be great to have on CD. One can only wish they’d remix all of Never Let Me Down to sound that good. Let Me Sleep Beside You is great as well, though I’m sorry that they are not including the killer version of In The Heat of The Morning from the Toy sessions (it seems as if they are including the original version)
