When Metallica made their force as a Rock and Roll band known, they climbed their way to the top of the metal heap and stayed there for quite a long time. In fact, many of their classic albums, beginning with their revered debut from 1983. Kill ‘Em All, all the way through to their last, Death Magnetic (2008), still hold a place in may fans’ hearts. It’s no secret that many of these titles, some more than others, are reissue gold.
In 1993, the band released a live set that ended up being their most important set release. With sales up stratospherically at around 25 million units sold worldwide, it’s easily understood that fans love Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge. Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge was released as a Boxed set that contained three CDs, and three VHS tapes of Metallica performances, with subsequent issues subbing in DVDs, thus replacing the outdated VHS tapes.
On September 16, Rhino, and Blackened Recordings will reissue Live Sh*t: Binge & Purge as the expected 3CD/2DVD box. As of this time, there is no information on what the new reissue will bring over the last 2002 reissue of the title. For the moment, this is the first salvo of notice that we’re providing. We will update as more info becomes available (if necessary).
However, let it be known that there are LP, and DVD reissues of all Metallica titles. This just may be a straight replacement of the title. Take this news how you will.
Nice, but too bad this will not be on blu-ray. DVD is already outdated.
