Legacy Recordings will release a complete collection of Alan Parsons Project catalog titles in their Complete Albums Collection series. While not much info is known about this set, it certainly is likely to follow along the same lines as other previous issues in this series. What is known is that the box will contain all ten studio sets (Tales Of Mystery & Imagination – 1976, I Robot – 1977, Pyramid – 1978, Eve – 1979, The Turn Of A Friendly Card – 1980, Eye In the Sky – 1982, Ammonia Avenue – 1983, Vulture Culture – 1984, Stereotomy – 1985, Gaudi – 1987) as well as the previously unreleased The Sicilian Defence. As fans know, the primarily instrumental The Sicilian Defence was expected to be their 4th studio release but was shelved, not intended to be released by the label. That makes this box a compelling purchase for APP fans.
The albums will be stored in durable mini LP replica sleeves. In addition, a 28 – page booklet will be included with photos, credits, essay and notes…all the bonus new things that usually set a new release apart from previously released titles. I suspect the albums will be newly remastered.
The Complete Albums Collection for Alan Parsons Project is scheduled for March 31 in the US, and likely March 30 in the UK.
