While the band known as Cabaret Voltaire roamed stages as early as 1973, it wasn’t until the explosion of New Wave and Post-Punk that gave them a serious audience with which to mesh with. Cabaret Voltaire and their synth styles updated to meet a time of dance fueled, in part, by the ’70s Disco music. Let’s face it: folks like to dance (well, most of them do). For a strong 7 years, Cabaret Voltaire released 8 strong UK chart-toppers. Through that period, the band issued 15 chart-topping singles. Interestingly, the US market got interested in 1987 with two singles from the band’s 9th album – CODE.
On December 11, Mute Records will reissue CODE with a brand new 2026 remaster expanded to include extra tracks that will focus on remixes and previously unreleased remixes, 3 CDs in all.
The 2026 reissue of CODE will be offered on 3CD, DD, and a Limited Edition CODIFIED Marble-color vinyl LP.
