Since Peter Gabriel‘s years with Genesis and then his subsequent – and VERY successful – solo career, we have heard little of his music (other than previously recorded ones) for quite a few years. 21 of them, in fact (not counting his covers and re-recordings in both 2010 and 2011). And with the plans for his latest, to be called i/o, the announcement had been made but the actual release date languished in unknowable purgatory for more than a few months.
On December, the album and its various mixes were released to fans who had patiently awaited the album, thus satisfying a large contingency of hopeful fans who were not disappointed with the output. Along with the various mixes and availability of the title, a Boxed set was planned for the first of 2024.
The i/o Box is expected to contain 4LP/2CD/and a Dolby Atmos mix on BD-Audio called the In-Side Mix, and that will contain 24-bit/96kHz resolution of both available mixes in Stereo and 5.1 Surround. No doubt a grouping of extras will accompany this box making the set an appreciable gain for fans in the near future. It will be released on March 8.
We will update this article with better information as the i/o Box becomes more realized. You can expect the rich i/o Boxed set on March 8 of 2024.
